Transcripts of research interviews conducted by Frank Emspak with Bob Travis, a United Automobile Workers organizer concerning the Flint, Michigan, sit-down strike of 1936-1937, the role of the Communist Party in the UAW from 1936 to 1946, and the post-war decline of the left wing of unionism; with Helen Travis about her experiences as a writer for the Daily Worker; with George Morris, labor editor of the Daily Worker, concerning CP activities within the trade union movement prior to the establishment of the CIO; and with George Addes, secretary-treasurer of the UAW from 1936 to 1947.
